Originally, my friend Haruna got me into photography by suggesting I take some shots of the sunsets while in Japan. For about a year of off and on photo trips, I accumulated a ton of bad and good pictures, with the final ones being a 'goodbye' trip she took me on my last week on the islands. After returning to the United States, I would take casual photos with my phone, food pictures, sunsets and the random astro shots that were too out of focus to even save.
It wasn't until I realized I had a slight memory issue that I struggled for a few years to remember my past in some ways, so I resorted to filling my camera roll with anything I could to remember my life. Eventually, after a few lifestyle changes and a major situation change, I started working hard learning how to operate my Canon 850D and Samsung phones. While I have not been able to talk to Haruna in years, I commemorate the memory and support she gave me as a friend in that time towards the skillset and passion I have now for preserving memories of the life around me.
